1. Write an article.

By writing an article you are able to put a compelling piece of writing right in front of your audience using the leverage of article directories like eZine articles and Article Underground. Article directories offer the opportunity to place a limited amount of links to your squeeze page or sales page and given that your article is on topic and well written for your niche you will receive a steady flow of traffic over time. Once you have completed your article submit it to e-zine articles and seduce traffic from various visitors. It really is as simple as that. But don’t just stop at one article directory - post your article to as many directories as possible! I have acquired many visitors from single articles over a long period of time, this is possibly the most powerful traffic generating strategy of all!

2. A link exchange

Never underestimate the power of a link exchange.  By typing your keyphrase or targetted keyword into Google in addition to the word “+link” will return websites that have a reference to links within your niche.  Check out each website and if you feel that they are ‘on topic’ make a phone call to the webmaster and discuss the possibilities of an exchange after studying the target website.  Be sure to discuss the content of the target website with the webmaster to show that you have read the content with interest, there is an art to requesting links and link exchanges.

3. Become active in Forums.

In a similar way, searching for keyword +forum will return a nuymber of forum based websites that are currently active in your niche.  Join a couple of forums and start making subtle comments and take part in discussions.  If you are an enthusiast within the niceh then search for people in distress and offer help and advice.  Don’t go for the kill and try to pitch products from day one…mull around for a while, get a few posts under your belt and after a few weeks start to seduce your prospects.  Using html links in your signatures is the key to getting links and traffic, once you have a number of posts in the forum you will start to receive visits from curious prospects.

4. Directory Submissions

Make use of online services and software like SEO Elite to obtain links and references within related directories and categories.  Over a period of time this method of link building will cultivate visitors and link within your niche

Making money online is simple, but it is not easy. It is all about following a system. It is all about testing and testing again. And then implementing the strategies that work. And repeating these methods over and over again. I have listed 8 tips to get you started.

Consider using low pressure sales tactics to increase your sales page conversion rate. In many niches, including self help niches, low pressure sales works far better than the normal Internet marketing routine, which can often turn off prospects. Instead, use blue fonts, realistic claims and avoid hype altogether.

Always use more than one call to action in your actual sales page. Some people prefer short sales pages and others prefer long sales pages, so give either to both. If they want to continue reading, provide a long list of benefits. If they would prefer to stop reading and immediately skip to the purchase, allow them to do that, too.

Use care when crafting a headline for a sales page. This is easily the most important part of the entire page. If you lose visitors at the headline, they will click off the page and never return. If you at least intrigue them somewhat with compelling copy, you will at least have one chance to bait them into buying.

If you sell an audio product, consider taking clips from your product and giving them away for free on your sales page. These free but incomplete pieces of your entire product will entice visitors to go from being tire-kickers to potential buyers. This is especially true if you use these audios to get visitors onto a mailing list.

If you are selling videos, consider creating a demo to give to your customers for free. The demo should provide useful information, but should also be incomplete, so that the viewer has to purchase the product in order to get the full benefit. This is a powerful sales mechanism which can improve conversion rates significantly.

If you list the benefits of a given product, you will want to use good images as bullet points. For instance, using clear, fast-loading check marks can significantly improve your sales page conversion rate. Additionally, you will want to pay attention to the colors you use. Red and blue usually work best.

Consider improving your conversion rates by carefully syncing your traffic sources with your landing pages. For instance, if you are pulling traffic for a specific keyword, you will want to sync that group of buyers to a specific sales page or autoresponder series on your site that lines up with what the group might want to purchase most.

Give away free reports that act as a natural upsell. These reports should go to great lengths describing the details of a powerful plan to do something. At the end of the report, you should then work your way to upselling the reader by providing a link to a product that makes the process easier. This will pre-sell your customers, increasing your conversion rate.

Making money online by promoting affiliate products can be more effective when accompanied by good quality article marketing. When you have successfully created you niche website and thoroughly proofed it, then take some quality time, some real quality time away from the computer and start to brainstorm, write a few words about the product you are promoting.  For example, if you are promoting an piece of software that you have been using and you are really happy with,  take a pen and start writing.

Start with…

Introducing your product to the public domain. Let everybody know that the software you are promoting exists. Here are a few questions and shortcuts you could/should follow:

Who is the programmer? Write a few words about the company or the person, a brief history. Quote an author of the tool, copy/paste some of his words and don’t forget to put his signature at the end. How long the company has existed? Write down some of their references. What are the capabilities of the software? Write some technical data or a specification.

Give the reader a detailed description, providing a list of features and benefits as well as any downsides the software has, or improvements that you would recommend.  Try to analyze the software you are writing about. For example, write down a simple how to for some basic tasks that the software can perform. Explain few steps and clicks that you made while installing, setting up, and maintaining the software. Write about some new solutions you found while using the software. Try to focus on simple things like, how to schedule automatic disk scanning, or how to schedule automatic virus database update, how to clean infected files, how to manually scan disk, how to browse whole disk… In case you are writing about some anti virus tool. I thing you get the picture.

By now, you should have approximately 200-300 words or more in your article. Your article still needs more content, ending, and the main part, affiliate links to product sale page. By the way, some article directories insist that the length of your articles should be at least 350 words. That should be no problem for you.

Publish More content.

Surf the Internet and try to find anything interesting and related to the software you are promoting. Any other articles, comparison charts, reviews, pictures, testimonials, author’s review… Visit software’s homepage and dig for any technical data about it. Find out what the authors are saying about it. Contact the author. Tell him white you are writing about. Don’t just copy/paste the material! First read it, think about it and then write it down with your own words.

When writing the article, you could/should use affiliate links in your sentences. Something like this: “This software, which you can find at (here you paste affiliate link) is one of the best solutions that you can find out there.” Get it? Yes.

Don’t use too many links, use them wisely, two or three links in article should be enough.

End your article.

If you find any awards the software you are promoting received, include them to. At the end of your article, create a simple comparison chart. Compare your software with similar software, what it has and other don’t have. Why is it better then competitors?

Just start writing. Write a few articles. Try to write one article at a day, but don’t forget to include back link to your site. Beginners mistake.

When you have ten or more of your articles, don’t hesitate to create a website with your articles ordered by categories.  Almost forgot, submit you article to as many article directories as possible. Where? I will write about it in my next article.

In session 5 of our Make Money Online overviews I’ll be revealing my first months yield in adsense revenue.  After reviewing the Search Engine positions for my targeted keyphrases in the last post I showed the Google and Yahoo positions at that current time.

Achieving these positions is of little use to us unless we are receiving some money for our efforts.  So with our adsense posting automatically on each post that we make, we ensure that our visitors are met with an opportunity to exit after they have searched our site, adsense provides the visitor with the gateway to exit and provides us with an opportunity to monetize when they click through.

The following screen capture details my adsense earnings from 13th October through to today 24th October 2008.  These 11 days have delivered a yield of 318 impressions and 20 clicks, providing a CTR (click through rate) of 6.29% and a total yield of $16.07.

“OK”, I hear you say “not so exciting!”…well imagine this, the domain name for this niche cost me around $10.00 and the website took only 30 minutes to setup.  Since leaving the keyword rich autoposting enabled, this blog has amassed over 2000 keyword rich posts which are responsible for attracting Search Engine Rankings as per my previous post.  This has all been achieved in less than a month and already my adsense has paid for the domain cost.

After leaving this running for a full year the website should only rise further to the top of the search engines and attract more and more clicks, making it an authoriy site in its niche.  A full year should yield in the region of $450 in adsense earnings…automatically!  Making Money Online really is that easy…

Now imagine this…ten more sites in similar niches with a similar CTR and EPC (Earning Per Click) would deliver $4500 annually at a cost of around $180 (domain names + hosting) so we’re set to yield at least $4000 for almost no work!  This is only with adsense, add the occasional eBay, Amazon and Clickbank associate sale and we could be doing quite nicely.

And that’s only on a scale of 10!

So after establishing our site in the beginning of October I decided to carry out an overall analysis against search engine ranking for our chosen keywords (refer to previous posts for deciding which keywords I chose to target).
