This advice is probably the best you will receive today, in order to sell you need to gain trust, in order to gain trust you need to GIVE somebody something of quality.
The key is to give away your very best tool in the box, whether it is the latest blog theme that you have created (Jeff Johnson), or the latest Web Creation Software (Brad and Matt Callen of Bryxen) or a video on how to get low click costs on Google (Frank Kern), the aim here is to attract prospects to your funnel so that they can become a part of YOUR cult.
Once they have your quality product and it is seen to be a great gift, then you have their trust and they will listen to you and will more than likely buy from you again and again. Sharing your product creations has more value than selling, this is the long term philosophy of internet marketing.
